Columbus GA overnight stop

We are heading to the Smokies and would like to stop near Columbus GA for just a overnight stop to break up the drive. Can anyone recommend a good stop. Really just need a rv friendly place to catch some sleep. Cant find out if overnight parking is allowed at the Welcome Center on I-185 just N of Columbus

Roosevelt SP is nice, but it's a ways off of I85. There's not many CG on 85 around that area. There is a Loves truck stop around 20 miles north of the state line. They might allow a quick overnight. Or you could try around Auburn, AL. I know there is a CG right off 85 at the College St. exit. May not be much available there if it's a home game, though.
Not sure about overnighting in that rest stop.
I drive that stretch of road a lot, so let me know if you have any more questions.

Sorry, I apparently can't read. I thought you said I 85, but just saw you said I 185.
Roosevelt SP is a good option. It's about 10 miles off the interstate. There is also a private park in Pine Mountain that I have stayed in. It's about 8 miles off the interstate.
If memory serves, that rest area closes for the night, so check before you plan on staying there.

There are 3 Walmart stores near I-185 in the Columbus area. Call and see if they allow overnight parking. There is also a Cracker Barrel, they welcome RVs for overnight also. We've used Walmart from coast to coast while traveling and never had an issue.

Thanks for the replies. Just found out the Columbus Welcome Center does allow overnights. Just FYI they also have a RV dump station.
