Cooperstown, NY Campground

Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of a good campground for our stay in Cooperstown next August? Heading to watch our son play at Dreams Park & taking the in-laws, I certainly want to choose wisely!
We both have 40 ft. rigs so would need sites for larger RV's.
I have been researching, but there is limited current reviews of surrounding parks.
Thanks,
Beth

Beth,
We've stayed at the KOA off US. 20 on the north side of Otsego Lske. This is maybe 20 miles from Cooperstown, but since the campground was carved out of what used to be a farm, there is plenty of room for a big rig. Amenities are limited however. This was 6 years ago so it may have changed some. If my memory serves me, there IS a pool. I have no knowledge of the other few CG's in the area.
Try an app called Allstays. Great way to assess an area for RV stays.
Good Luck
Ron

We have stayed at Heartwick Higlands about 10 miles at the most out of Cooperstown. Go on the Campground owners of New York web site. and it's under the central ny area. It's a nice campground will take big rigs also.

We stayed at the Cooperstown KOA in Aug 2013 in our 42' towing MH. We had a good sized end pull thru site right across from a cabin we rented for other members of our family. The KOA staff were very helpful. They were around to help whenever needed. There is a pool and some limited activities for kids. The showers were good and the laundry as well. A very nice Amish lady came by to sell her baked goods, reasonable price and exceptionable taste! The only problem was flies. Lots of flies. The campground is surrounded by cow pastures, not much you can do about that. It's about 20 minutes to a half hour to Cooperstown itself.
