They are just great but not always on main roads. You can pick up a book at most RV dealers, Camping World, etc. that list these sites by states. We also like state parks and city parks but some are closed in the winter. If you are South or Southwest most are open all year around.

Right, I think it's "Camping with the The Corps", but I don't remember the name of the book that lists "City and County" Campgrouds, can help me "Remember"?

We use Trailer Life and also go on the internet. There are also some neat city parks along the way and sometimes you run into these just by accident. Hate to pay big prices for parking even overnight.

Thanks, just found it on another "List", Wheeler's they are on line and also have a book. But they list many City/County, small Campgrounds. Thanks for making me ask/remember.

Don Wright's camping directory (has new updated version been released yet?) is a good source for the low cost (public) campgrounds. Usually need to be able to boondock though.
