corps of engineers parks

Does anyone have a good reference for finding US Army Corps of Engineers parks? I can find some on the Internet but usually with lots of other commercial parks advertised. Maybe one of you can recommend a good website or book for the campgrounds.
Thanks
Bob

I found a couple books at the local bookstore that were dedicated to corp parks only.

Federal recreation, camping and tour reservation information - Recreation.gov if I recall correctly (If I did it will translate) Not only can you FIND COE parks (And Federal Forest Service CG's) via this tool but you can make your reservation, "pre-check in" and pay all on one URL.

I see it translated.. and properly too.

During the winter we spend 2 weeks in a membership CG and then a week out.. Nov-Mar1, we stay in a nice little county park 12/night, Mar-1 the price goes **UP** so we visit a COE 17 miles away for 11/night with wife's discount card.

I stay at COE parks, like them a lot. wa8yxm says it right: It all happens at recreation.gov.

Also, if you camp with the COE a lot, this is a great little guide book: "Camping with the Corps of Engineers" by SL Hinkle at Amazon.

Happy trails

Camping World or Amazon will have the book. Enjoy...they're nice parks. The above link to Corps Lakes Gateway is very good.

Recreation.gov is the website that list COE campgrounds by state or name if you run a list of campgrounds by state the ones with a red castle are COE, I have never seen a bad COE campground usually they are on waterways or lakes. One of the drawbacks is not all have sewer hookups most have water & electric with a dump station.

Personaly , I don't mind not having sewer hook up. We only stay in one spot 3-4 days at a time at this point, so no problem.

Absolutely correct! We have a COE CG on the other side of the lake near our house. You can reserve site early or show up and hope for an opening. Make the res its easier. Nice part is the CG overview will show you pictures of the actual site so you can see if theres overhanging trees, depressions, etc.. The Rangers are very friendly and when we've called to ask questions they were more than helpful, making suggestions on sites based on what we want. ( close to the water, power, concrete pad, etc..)

We have stayed at a few Corps parks, but we have found that most are very remote and hard to find (Before GPS purchase).
