Corpus / Padre / Port Isabel In March

I want to stay RIGHT ON THE BEACH in the motorhome.

I don't want to walk 100 yards, or 50 yards, I just want the coach to be right on the beach (of course I know not next to the tide...lol)

Where is the best RV Park in Corpus/Padre or Port Isabel area to get as close to the beach as possible?

We want to travel in March down there for a few days, just to enjoy the beach. My Uncle also said one of them also has a shuttle that runs all over and we wouldn't need a car, but he didn't know which park it was....

Thanks for your input fellow IRV2'rs!

Mustang Island, Port Aransas, Nueces County IB Magee Beach Park. You can park right on the beach or get a campsite in the little RV park behind the sand dune. The main ship channel in/out of Corpus Christi is right there, too, for added visual enjoyment.

Kent,

If you are looking for more options to camp right on the beach, take a look at Boca Chica Beach, which is as far south as you can go on the Texas Gulf Coast. Public land, a state park, but virtually no services, no fees, no restrooms. Nothing . . . except lots of beautiful beach. People drive on it all the time, even motorhomes, some stay the night or two or three . . . even once we saw an 18-wheeler (had no trailer). Drive to the south end of the beach and you'll come to the Rio Grande River. Boca Chica is south of South Padre, good paved road to it, but watch the weather carefully. Not a good place to get stuck in the sand (any guess how I know that?).

We go there every year when we are hanging out down in the RGV in Jan/Feb, sometimes we are the only ones there. Really a great place! If you don't actually camp out there with your motorhome, go there with your toad for a nice day, picnic, etc. Some folks go fishing there.

Shhhh . . . don't tell anyone else about Boca Chica

You don't need to be in an RV park in Nueces County in order to be able to park on the beach, as close to the water as you dare. You just get a beach permit at a town like Port Aransas and enter at one of the public access roads. Spring break starts on 3/8 this year and extends over the next two weeks. Join all the drunk college kids out on the beach!
