CP on/near the ocean - SoCal

South of LA to San Diego area - on/near the ocean. Prefer to at least have shore power. Experiences and recommendations?

Few choices. Very expensive land for RV park. San Diego has Silver Strand by Coronado. This is a State park and is a parking lot basically. No hookups. But on the ocean. The best one I know of if you are active or retired military in in camp Pendleton. An great RV partk with full hookups on the ocean. There are two commercial RV parks on mission bay. The RV park in Chula Vista near the bay. VERY nice park. South Carlsbad State park overlooks the ocean. Some hookups. Hard to get reservations on weekends. Newport Dunes in newport beach. Great park on bay.

About right. There is a CG across from the Queen Mary in Long Beach. It used to have an ocean view, but the view is now usually blocked by transport boxes. There is a CG in Huntington Beach basically across the street from the beach, haven't been there in years. Newport Dunes is a true "resort" campground, on prime bay property, really rather pricey and difficult to get summer reservations. Campland on the Bay is a family resort with lots of children and family groups creating lots of noise and excitment...had a great time there this summer with the grandkids. Next door is another lovely campground, I've not stayed there but WholesaleWarrenties has had a few gatherings there. Chula Vista is across a walking path from the bay. Lovely park.
