Crater Lake National Park
Has anyone been to Crater Lake so far this year? Looks like the rim road is 75% cleared, but I'd like some first hand experiences before we venture up there.

take lots of mosquito repellant and bug spray with you. watch for rocks that have fallen on to the road.

We were there this past weekend. The Rim Road is only open on the west side from the south entrance to the road leading to Diamond Lake - about 6 miles total. There is still snow along the roadside of the Rim Rd. over a car's height. No trails to hike. It's a beautiful site though with all the snow. We stayed at Joseph H. Stewart State Rec. area which was an easy drive of 40 mi or so to Crater Lake. The campground had big sites and was very nice. No mosquitoes!!

2X on staying at Joseph H. Stewart campground to see Crater Lake. If you are there at the right time, take a morning to see the Cole M. Evens Fish Hatchery next to the park. I was there in early July & they were collecting fish - The crew took the time to explain the process, & put on a great show for kids, etc. Some Photos:
