Crazy Horse Lake Havasu

A Google search had turned up mediocre reviews on crazy horse campground. Looking for others that may have stayed there and their experience. We plan a group trip in the fall. There will be 6 rvs ranging from 39' to 45' all pulling boats. We all need 50amp service and would like to find a campground that has boat slips. I heard crazy horse is central to the lake and other attractions. We are open to other locations in Havasu as well.

Stayed at Havasu 2 mos ago..Stayed at the Islander, just down the street from Crazy Horse......Here is my opinion:

Used to stay at Crazy Horse in the 70's and it was wild then but clean.....Drove thru it 2 mos ago, purely nostalgic reasons....It was a dump......Many many long term people, RV's in need of repair, etc...But---part of it is close to the water.....

Islander is a bit more expensive but soooo much better...We extended our stay a few days because it was so nice.....Used one of their recommended MH washers and he did a good job....Had a waterfront site that was perfect.......

Yep, Crazyhorse is a dump and the management is poor. The Beachcomber and the Islander is the only decent RV parks on the water. The Beachcomber just changed ownership and the press has been bad.

I remember as a young boy we pulled into Crazy Horse the first time we went to Havasu in 1977. Before the end of the day my mother said "not for kids" and we headed south ending up at Cattail Cove. Then we did every summer next door at Sandpoint from 1978 through 1983... ultimately ended up building a place up in Topock to the north that my parents still have.

Appreciate the info everyone. We will see if we can get our group into the Islander. It certainly looks nicer in the YouTube videos.

You might check out Havasu Landing Resort & Casino right across the lake from Lake Havasu City. Been going there for years, big campground several boat ramps, marina/fuel.
