Crow Butte County Park, WA

My wife and I met my brother and his wife at Crow Butte County Park in south central Washington for the weekend. The Horse Heaven Hills AVA has their annual Trail Drive (wine tour) on the 3rd weekend of July each year and it's an annual event to meet up with my brother and his wife for a fun weekend.

Crow Butte was one of the Washington State Parks that was closed a few years back due to budget reductions. Benton County took it over and they take great care of it. If you're looking for someplace to get away for a few days and are anywhere close, this is the place. The closest town is about 30 miles away. It is located on an island in the Columbia River so lots of water sports (fishing, boating, swimming, etc). The management are very friendly and helpful, and the park is well cared for!

About the only diversion is the close proximity of several wineries that produce some really nice wines. The "Trail Drive" is a tour of several of the wineries and a picnic Saturday evening; I would highly recommend it for a weekend of fun and relaxation!

It's a great park! When we lived in the Tri-Cities I did a lot of Walleye and Bass fishing out of there. Had to relocate a few rattlers from the campground a couple times. Did not know it had changed ownership. We are now on Lake Roosevelt behind Grand Coulee Dam near FT. Spokane.
Enjoy the wine!
