We have been coming to the RGV since about 2006 .... in the January-February time frame. Not nearly as many folks this year! Had a manager of a very large RV park tell us the value of the Canadian dollar has had a big impact this season. She said an estimate 150,000 fewer folks in the valley. What we've seen most parks have quite a few vacant sites.

Meanwhile the elbow room is nice!

I am down here at Llano Grande and there is plenty of room for last minute guests. This is a great park if you have never been down here. We drove around the second day to to see all the places we have looked into but Llano Grande is by far the best choice. Bentsen Palm Village #2 and Retama Village #3 We were going to stay at Bentsen Grove but after driving through glad we went to Llano Grande..... no comparison. There a lot to park models, casita lots etc for sale by owner all over the place. They say that Canadians are trying to get 30% on their money by selling now that the exchange rate is so lopsided.

Glad you made it down! Thanks for the info. We'll be down there around the end of February! We'll check out Llano Grande... Have fun! We have some Canadians staying here in the park we camp host in south Louisiana...they are having the same struggle....We may not see a lot of our northern visitors this year!
