Dallas, TX area in July

what all do you plan on doing? this will give you a better location. can save you lots of miles and traffic.

Narrow down the area. There are numerous places that ring both Dallas and Ft. Worth. Both private RV parks and COE/State Parks. For example;

Grapevine Lake- COE parks. Very near DFW airport.

Joe Pool Lake- COE park on north shore and Cedar Hill State park on south shore (COE park is area of I-20 & I-360) This is close to six flags, Ranger baseball, all of Arlington, equidistant to Dallas and Ft.Worth.

The above dont have sewer at each site, but are nice places. To get sewer hookups you will have to go to private campgrounds. There are many other locations around DFW. Like Richard said, you dont want to be on the other side of the county from where you want to visit and have to fight traffic, which is 24/7 in all of the DFW area. (I used to live there). Going 15-20 miles in that mess is a pain!

DW has a convention at the Adams Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas. Another couple will be traveling along with us. The guys wil be providing transportation to the hotel in the mornings and evenings. My days will be spent relaxing at a golf course or chores that we must do to keep our RV's up.

Lewisville is about 30 min to 45 worse case in traffic depending on time of day.

I heard Pilot Knoll Park http://www.traveltex.com/pg.asp?pn=24384&SN=691649&LS=0 is good and it close to a great golf course called Tour 18

<span class="ev_code_BLUE">We moved here from the Dallas area last year. When we go back to visit we have tried several parks but we have recently stayed at:

Plantation Place RV Park

It is close to our friends and family and it is a nice enough part of the metroplex. It is a small park so you need to make reservations in advance. It isn't what I would consider a destination place but for a park to hook up for a few days while in the area, it works very well. I was surprised at how quiet it was... but don't expect spacious sites. There are a number of decent golf courses in Mesquite, Rockwall, and Garland that are convenient to this park. There is even a lake right down the street.
O.K. so it isn't exactly close to the Adam's Mark hotel but there aren't any RV Parks or campgrounds that are.... At least this one is near I-30 and that will get you downtown & back fairly easy (depending on time of day of course).
