If you canmake it that far, First Landing S.P. on the South side of the Bay Bridge in the Norfolk area gets my vote.

Ditto, the park is in Cape Carles, VA. We paid $35 + tax and a $5 walk up reservation fee for a 50 amp FHU with limited Catv a couple of years ago.

Further north and a bit off course is Assateague Island with both State and National campgrounds. The National, no hookups and dogs allowed, is half price with Golden Age as is the state with the MD Golden Age pass. the SP does not allow dogs (pets?) and has electric. This is the island with the wild horses roaming on it and is well worth a visit. It is also close to Ocean City.

The state park DOES allow pets. They changed it a year or two ago. Maryland Department of Natural Resources - Maryland Park Service
