Can’t wait until we arrive in Williams AZ with our rig to explore the Grand Canyon. How many Fay’s do you need in Williams to explore. We have 4 reserved!

4 days should be plenty of time. That’s what we did, with the idea we would spend 2 at the Grand Canyon, 1 in Williams, and 1 in Flagstaff. We never made it to Flagstaff and spent 2 in Williams. Have a great time!

Great report.
The Grand Canyon has been on my list for several years.
We're looking at the fall of next year for decent weather and kids are back in school. Hopefully less crowded.

We loved taking the train to the Grand Canyon. It’s a lot of fun. But, we really enjoyed the canyon even more when we stayed in the park at Trailer Village. There’s a shuttle stop right there and you never need your car except to get our to the watchtower. We like to take our time and do lots of hiking, so we usually stay there at least a week. There is an important caution at the beginning of Bright Angel trail. It says “Down is optional, Up is mandatory” [emoji16]

Also... keep in mind not to get reckless taking selfies. There have been deaths recently by falling off into the canyon because they got too close to the edge taking selfies.

Desert RV Trip Report - Grand Canyon and Williams
Good advice! Thee are no guardrails in many areas. We saw several people taking selfies in precarious places.

Mrs Chilerick, we’d love to stay in Trailer Village some day. I understand that spaces for a 36 foot RV are limited there.

It was crowded, but now too crowded, in April. My guess it that you will enjoy it in The fall. To be safe, be prepared for any type of weather. Even though it was beautiful when we were there, I hear it snowed earlier this month!

Been to the South Rim once. Been to the North Rim 4-5 times. I'll take the North Rim but yes you need to see the South Rim.

I plan to visit the North Rim in the next year or two. When is the best time to visit for pleasant weather?
