Diamond RV park Woodland Park CO ?
We usually don't travel in the summer much, but this southeast heat and humidity was pretty miserable this year. So we are looking to spend next July/August in Colorado along the front range. Woodland Park CO with it 8500' elevation and moderate temps appeals to us. I have been reading largely 5/5 reviews on Diamond RV park. Anyone here with experience staying in that park or know about the town and surrounding area?

Negatives for Diamond appear to be mostly small sites and no grass. Won't be sitting there allday-everyday anyway. We don't pull a towed so we are going to rent a car. <$550 monthly for an econo-box with fees and taxes. It will probably save us that much in fuel from not driving the motorhome.

If you notice on that link - there are other RV parks in the same area. Check them out.

I had already checked out the ones close to Woodland Park. Most are right on US 24 and have the noise from the highway. Big Pines is set back more and might be second choice. I put in a reservation request for Diamond, we will see how it goes.

We stayed there for a week a year or two ago. Lots of trees, pretty friendly community. But the sites are packed in pretty tight. There were quite a few folks who were there for the summer. I would go back.

Thanks Tom for replying, The sites being small and sometimes odd shaped has also been mentioned in other feedback I have gotten. My wife reasons that we just spent over 3 weeks in cramped sites on the east coast in humid 90-100 deg weather. We should be able to handle a month or so in 70's and 80's deg Colorado weather.

I lived in Denver for almost 2 years, (1984 & 1985) 95 is pretty hot for Denver! But it is still nothing like the heat and humidity we have been getting in coastal NC this year. Woodland Park at 8500' was 85 yesterday.
