Is Dinosaur a destination for you or just a point of reference? I have been from Dinosaur to SLC through Vernal, but that was a fly/drive trip to raft the Yampa River through Dinosaur NM. Seems like you would want to see Flaming Gorge along the way, so 191 would be the choice. I've only driven on 191 headed south, but it has been reasonably good all the way into AZ.

I think you have a number of options - need a little more info - 191 works - 40 works - 44 would be my route, smaller road through the Mountains.

But will be interesting to hear what you decide.

Maybe I should have asked what routes not to take. It's like Busskipper said - lots of choices.

I think I wasn't sure whether to take 44 or 191 to I-80. So 44 is OK to take?

Once on I-84 I'll probably get off it quick and either onto 30 (if I take 191) or onto 412 if I take 44.

I'm going around the west side of Bear Lake. We were on both sides last year but want to get back to the west side because it seemed so pretty.

For me, I try to see things and tend to stay off the I's so this is the Route ( https://binged.it/29GPElJ ) i'd take. we always go around Flaming Gorge on the left side as the better CG's are, IMHO, on this side.

If you click on the link it should give you all the options.

Thanks for the help, Busskipper. I'll take the 44 to 414 route.
