Discount Camping Clubs -

We sold our class A two years ago due to health problems but now we have been "fixed" and are ready to go again - this time in a class C. Formally belonged to Great Escapes camping group and found them to be very worthwhile - believe they have gone under and wonder if anyone could recommend another reduced price camping firm that could accommodate us pretty much in all lower 48 states as we like to travel for 6-8 weeks at a time. we like to stay about half the time in different campgrounds while we are enjoying the area, otherwise we use Walmarts, some truck stops, casinos and always rest stops that allow overnites. Thanks in advance for your input! Carolynne and Tom

Passport America. Signed up last year for three years at $109. First trip we took was 5 days in the Keys at $49 a night, regular price was $98. Saved $245, easily paid for my 3 year membership. Soon afterwards got a deal to upgrade to a Lifetime membership, once I retire I will get that money back very quickly and then will be "in the black" very quickly. Good Luck!!!

We have found that Passport America easily is the best deal. Generally, older privately owned parks looking to fill a spot for the night. Easily pays for itself each year. We don't specifically look for PA cgs but it is the book we consult first. Some cgs have restrictions but we found calling ahead many will lift the restriction.

Trouble we find with Pasport, is that you cannot make reservations, first come, first serve !

We have made reservations at PA campgrounds with no problems. This depends on the cg.

We made reservations in the Keys about two months out. When you go to the PPA site and search most of the campgrounds want you to call if you are a PPA member.
