We have reservations at Fort Wilderness from December 10-20 and cannot wait to get there. We have been there many times over the years, but this is only the second or third time without our children. It's still lot of fun. From there, we go to Larry and Penny Thompson Park in Miami for a week over Christmas. One of the kids still lives in Miami-Dade County. Hope everyone going to FW has a great time. The mouse rules!

Your going at the best time of the year. Bring Christmas lights to decorate your rig. Rent a golf cart and tour the CG at night to see how others have decorated their rigs. There are a few people who really go all out. The theme is Mickey Mouse of course. The other thing you must do is go to the Christmas party at the Kingdom at night. It is an extra fee but it is always allot of fun. It snows in Florida only at the Magic Kingdom. I wouldn't be caught swimming at the pool in December in that part of the State but some people do. I assume they are from Minnisota or someplace like that. I was scheduled to go to FW at that time but by-pass surgury put a hold on all my travel plans but we will be doing a Magical Gathering with all my kids and grandkids in April so that should make up for it.

Hi All,

Was wondering if during the winter Jan. thru March is it possible to call up a week ahead and get a site, or do you have to have plans set way in advance?? Have only been here durring the summer (work, kids, school) at which time I would make plans in Jan to go for a week sometime in June - August. Also was wondering what sites are going for per day??

Generally you would be ablel to get a site. It is $55 or so plus tax for the preferred site. It goes down from there. Weekends are always more difficult. The more flexible you are the better. It will always be swamped on a three day weekend, say over Martin Luther King Day.

we're going to Tampa for 3 days and then to Fort Wilderness for 9 days on 4/27/08. We flew down last march and stayed at Port Orleans. Hated every second in the hotel! We took the boat over to FW 3 times just to walk around. This will be our 7th trip in the a MH to FW. Can't wait to take the new coach on the road trip! Love DISNEY! Goofy's the best!
