I don't think they've ever "rented WiFi" boxes. The would loan you a cable modem to put in your rig that connected to the cable tv. If you wanted to set up wifi with it you could if you had your own wifi box to plug in the cable modem.

Haven't asked for a modem in the last year or two so I don't know if they've changed anything lately.

How is the Wifi there now?

You are right. The cable modem was what I rented. I know I had to pay for it and I wasn't too happy. I returned it for another unit and it wasn't any better.

Was it rent, or a refundable security deposit?

Did they swap cable and all or just the box? Sounds like you had a bad cable or the connection at the post was not working well.

I've never paid for the modem. It's always been free but would charge you if not returned. I carry my own golfcart as I have a tandem tow just for this purpose. Having a cart at the fort is so much fun. The place is 750 acres and 1 mile from where you pull in to the marina,so it's a really big place.

Great feedback from all, and I agree with most everything said.

600 loop is one of the better locations. Close proximity to main pool, activities, etc. Centrally located, so not too far from park bus or boat stops. In general, try to avoid being too close to an internal bus stop if the warning beeps from the lowering busses annoys you.

Golf cart is a must. We always rent from the park. You can save money from renting off site, but I've never wanted to spend vacation time dealing with that. Don't forget decorations for your cart. They all look the same....

Best park cable in the country. Hands down. All HD, crystal clear, no box required (assuming you have a newer setup).

Super friendly staff. It's one of the preferred places in Disney for employees to work (because of the friendliness of campers, of course!). So they work extra hard to make sure they keep their positions.

Don't forget to decorate your site for the holidays.

No idea about park wifi. I use a Verizon router and that worked great.

Watch the magic kingdom fireworks from the beach. Another reason to have a golf cart.

Have a magical stay!

I was walking around yesterday morning just as we were getting ready to pack up and leave FW. They had just finished cleaning up a site in an adjoining loop. Ready for the next guests.

By the way, there are still people there from last Christmas in the same sites! Some even have Christmas decorations up. Although one person has changed it out to a Valentines Day theme. Click image for larger version

Looking to go this October (16). One thing that I see most need to get over is having TV everywhere you go, how do you all have so much time to worry about satellite when on such a trip? Pull the old "over the air" signal? Geez.

Some of us old geezers are stubborn and do not want to miss recording "Dancing With the Stars", in my grandfathers time it was the Lawrence Welk Show. We spent a month there so keeping in touch with the outside world was important.

Of course, if your time is very limited as were our 17 trips from California via airplane, then yes, tv was not important. We now have the luxury of time assuming our health holds and can enjoy it all.

The over the air signal is fine at FW, but they also have pretty good cable there too. It's just most of the sites are not satillite friendly due to the tree cover.

We probably won't see much TV when we're at the Fort, but it's nice if our favorite series can be recorded for later viewing. That said, we've yet to have a site on which we get satellite reception. Doesn't diminish our enjoyment of time spent there.
