We winter here: Deer Creek. We're 20 minutes from any of the Disney parks, another 10 minutes or so to Universal, pad to gate.

Out of curiosity, why visit the theme parks the week between Christmas and New Years? That's the busiest week of the year, the parks will be shoulder to shoulder with crowds.

We stayed at the KOA in Kissimmee last year and it was very nice. Large sites, great pool and friendly staff. As far as I recall it was less expensive than a comparable site at Ft Wilderness.

We have stayed at "Themeworld RV Park" for past 5 years. Friendly, clean, reasonable rate, nice pool. About 15 miles from Magic Kingdom. Great location, corner of I-4 & US 27.

We just spent a few days at the Thousand Trails park in Clermont. Less than 15 minutes to WDW.

Very nice park with a lot of amenities. Sites are well spaced out and there is a section that is 'heavily wooded' that has a state park feel to it.

I can't remark on the cost, as we are using up an introductory membership and have several more free nights with Thousand Trails.
