We stayed at both location this summer. Both places are very nice. Family liked tropical over outdoor as it was close to everything.

Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont. Some sites have full hook ups. Not that far from Disney and definitely much cheaper. No way I could ever justify spending that much money for a campsite. Lake Louis is around $25 per night and that sure leaves lots of money to spend at Disney. Ft Wilderness is always full so there must be some sort of attraction to it.

We've stayed at Lake Louisa SP a few times. It is about 21 miles to WDW and you can use "back" roads that aren't nearly as congested as the I-4 routes. The only thing we don't like about the SP is the lack of shade in the CG. Other than that, a nice place to camp for a very reasonable price, given the area. But don't spread that info around, we're trying to keep it secret!

Be cautious staying at FT Wilderness. It is a great place and nearly all the sites are nice but there are lots, and lots of trees. Many of the sites (unless you get one of those spendy premium sites) are difficult to maneuver a large MH in or out with overhanging trees. I will never go to Ft Wilderness again if I have to park after sunset!!!! Plan your arrival with light left in the day.

Sounds like you contacted a tree, I've herd some sites are tricky to get into.
