Door County

We are heading to Door County this weekend and have several Bays and campgrounds to pick from. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
We are going in a 31 foot Class C and not towing.

US of A. Wisconsin. It is the peninsula north and east of Green Bay. One of the places we want to visit.

We have visited several times and it's a neat area. There are two commercial campgrounds out on the peninsula (forget the names). The one near the Green Bay side was sort of run down when we were there several years ago. Another one on the Lake Michigan near Whitefish Bay side was better. There's a nice museum in Sturgeon Bay, and the White Gull restaurant is worth a visit (park on the side street a few doors down). Like many areas around the great lakes, marinas have lots of parking for large vehicles, and there is one within walking distance of downtown Sturgeon Bay.

Bobs C Class:

It's been a couple of years but the last time we visited Door County w. our 40 ft. MH and tow car, we stayed at a very nice RV park just North of Sturgeon Bay. I think it was right on Rt. 42 and approx. 8 to 10 miles (guessing) above Sturgeon Bay. Sorry, can't recall the name, but it was a great base camp for touring all of Door County.

Ya probably already know this, but, make sure ya pick up some of their Cherry Jam (the kind w. whole cherries) before leaving. It's WONDERFUL on hot English muffins.

One of the nicest campgrounds I have seen in door county is Bean Town in Bailey's Harbor. Super clean, basic, but everything works. The owners are nice and the park feels "right" - It's also one of the only parks I have been at that the seasonal sights don't look trashy - everything looks great there.

opps - forgot the link: http://www.beantowncampground.com/

Back from Door County

Thanks for all the advise. Stayed at Egg Harbor CG and it was very nice. Yes, bought the crushed cherry and eat our fill of perch. Good time was had by all.
