I was wondering if anyone has any recent input for Duncan's Family Campground in Lothian, Md? I have been on the review sites and they got mixed reviews. But one common issue was the electrical hookups and loss of electricity.

My wife is a travel nurse and we are looking for a place near Falls Church, Va. She will be there for 13 weeks starting mid September so we need a place that offers monthly stays. We have called most of the parks within a reasonable distance and Duncan's is the only place with availability for the time frame we will be there. Any input is greatly appreciated.

We stayed at Duncans for two months last year because of back surgery and rehab. Didn't have any problem with elec. Not all sites have 50amp, and thought their rates were too high. Also very diffuclt to get any satellite reception because of trees. Maybe check into Cherry Hill Park in College Park, MD, at least it's near the beltway(495). Have no idea what their rates are, but because of the location it won't be cheap. Take a look at VA., because a commute from Lothian to Falls Church would be a bear. It might not be too bad if she's working shift work, but the morning rush is horrible in the D.C. area no matter where you're coming from. Just thought of one that might work. Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, Va. It would be a straight shot on Rt. 66 to Falls Church. Granted 66 will have a lot of traffic, but wouldn't be any worse than anywhere else.

Thanks. I called Cherry Hill Park in College Park and they said they do not do monthly. I have called around in Virginia and Aquia Pines is the only place that lets you stay monthly but with limited availability.

We stayed at Duncan CG, last summer. CG was fine, showers were clean at that time. There were no issues with elec. except for the day we were out of water, cable, elec only because someone did not know how to back up without hitting the service post. We had no complaints that I could remember. They have a van that will take you to the train station and pick you up.
