We stayed at the Vallecito Resort last fall, very nice.

Mesa Verde NP was wonderful.

To NOT take a ride on the Durango & Silverton Railroad would be like going to Yosemite and not seeing Half Dome.

YMMV

Alpen Rose has a dog sitting service. Someone will come to your coach and let your dog out as often as you would like. I can't remember how much, but I remember it being reasonable. Also, the higher elevation Jeep trails still have snow in June. They are still worth taking, but don't get stuck.

Sarah, Over the years we have stayed at all the campgrounds around Durango and on our next trip we will go back to Aspen Rose. We have AT&T cell worked fine at Aspen Rose. I also would recommend riding the train. The jeep trails between Silverton and the old mining town of Animas Forks is pretty nice drive. Downtown Durango is a nice visit and one of our favorite restaurant is the Ore House. Enjoy southwest Colorado the most beautiful area in the lower 48.

Just came home this week from Alpen Rose. Verizon and ATT service was excellent. My friends Dish worked great. I used the campground cable. It is a lovely RV Resort and we hope to go there again. Just remember you are at a high elevation, so stay hydrated, and if you have a pet, make sure it stays hydrated. The altitude does take some getting used to...at least it did for me.
Happy Trails.
