East Coast Trip
Heading to the east coast in October. We have about 25 days, and plan to go to Charleston and Savannah. How long in each place? If we have extra time would head south to Florida, and possibly to gulf shore in Florida. Interested in parks with bicycle trails.

You can easily stay 4 - 5 days in Charleston. Depending on your interest. Alot of old Plantations to see, the town itself, Culinary tour was Great and much more on the history side, Civil war and the WWII ship. We stayed out James Island Park

Here's another vote for James Island Park. And I would also suggest you try eating at the California Dreaming Restaurant.

Love Charleston, we were just there in May for several days! We stayed at Oak Plantation campground just outside of Charleston and it was easy to go to and from there for touring Charleston and also plantations, etc.

I could spend equal time in each city. There is so much history. I recommend lunch at Justine's Kitchen in Charleston.

Since you'll be in Charleston in October, go to Bowens Island for oysters.

The Withlacootchie trail in Crystal River, Fla is a great destination. Just find a State Park near there, you cannot miss

If you want a bike trail, head all the way down to the FL Keys. They have most of a trail completed from Key Largo to Key West.

If you have extra time,I would suggest Huntington Beach State Park. Choice of wooded or open sites.Choice of full hookups or water and electric. Short walk to the beach.Great nature programs. Some good restaurants nearby at Murrel's Inlet.
