We have camped at Doll Mt. Army Corps of Eng. Campground on Carter's Lake. It is very nice. You can make reservations on Recreation.gov or just check it out.

I think there is an RV parkjust South of town. I have an Army buddy there and used to park in his driveway but with our present 40'5er I'll be using Plum Nelly CG too.

I think your link is wrong. Not about the RV park.

Not a lot of choices. Try looking here RV Park Reviews :: Ellijay, Georgia ( GA ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews

Last time we were in that area there were a lot of very smelly chicken farms, so better ask the campground if it is a problem.

Ray, can you correct your link? Can't get an RV park with it.

My wife & I enjoyed camping at Fort Mountain State Park near Elijay, but I'll tell you it can be a tough haul getting a big RV thru downtown Elijay and on to the State Park. Better to approach from the west if you can.

Lots of beautiful state parks in GA, but the weekend crowds in some of them can be pretty intense. Mid-week visits are very different.

Fort Mountain has a CG on the lake and one in the woods, so called because of the ruins of a old mountaintop fort ... the origins of the stone rampart structure isn't known... maybe back to the 1700's or earlier. Thought to have been built as a 'last stand' of some early European explorer group that left no record of being there.

Some seriously winding & narrow roads in that part of the country!

Take care & enjoy!
