Are there any suggestions for campgrounds in the area of Emerald Isle in NC? We are planning a trip in April. Thanks Steve

I lived in the area for several years but wasn't into camping then. Here is a quick search.

This is the only campground on the beach in Emerald Isle. We stay there at least once a year every year. It is very clean and very well run. It has some of the cleanest facilities of any campground we've used. Some consider it a little pricey but to most the condition and attitude of the owners and their employees is worth the cost. I've watched them come around in the early morning and wash the street signs.

Welcome to Holiday Trav-L-Park!

We have stayed at the Holiday Trav-L-Park in the not too distant past. The park is very nice and well run. There is a general store attached to the property as well as a nicely stocked wine store (if you care to use it). If your traveling with kids there is a go-cart track on the property and a ice cream shop/arcade. The site costs are generally based on your proximity to the ocean side of the park. The closer to the rear (oceanside) of the park, the higher the cost. If it turns out to be in your budget you will enjoy it. There is plenty to do throughout the area. Good luck.

Goose Creek is another RV park. It costs a lot less than the Travel Park.
It is off Hwy 24 between Cape Carteret and Morehead City.
They also have a lot of RV Campers permanently parked there.
Also, Cedar Point has a nice CG. No sewer hookups though, only electric.
There is water hookup at the sites and they have a dump station on your way out. It is first come, first served. 2 week stay. Very inexpensive.
On HWY 58 there is another CG, privately owned. It is called White Oak Shores. Full hookups, cable TV. It is a little further from the coast.
Hope this helps you.
Travel safely,
Alex

The Holiday Travel Park at the southern end of the island is nice, for sure. During the season, the prices are high but they are, IMO, the only nice RV park in the area. They maintain the place meticulously. On our last visit, we set up and placed our patio mat under the awning. A worker approached me and nicely asked that I remove the mat so as not to kill the grass. They worked hard to develop a thick mat of grass to cover the entire area.
