Enchanted Circle NM

Hi folks.
We are planning to visit the Enchanted Circle New Mexico in September.
What is your favorite RV Park in the area. We like to cycle (gravel roads), hike and fly fish.
Thanks
Dan

There are a few good options in the area. The Road Runner RV Park in Red River is a nice older park on the river. Our favorite is the new Angel Fire RV Resort just outside of Angel Fire. It's a very well laid out park with lots of amenities with group dinners, entertainment, etc. Both are within easy driving distance of Taos, which is nice to visit but not as great to stay.

I would stay in Questa ( 1 RV park ) or Red River ( 3 RV parks ) This area gives you access to many gravel back roads.

You need to Google- Wild Rivers N M and visit the website. This is an area only about 5 miles North of Questa to the turn off. Also Google La Junta point pictures. The Wild Rivers area is part of 250,000 acre BLM in NM and Colorado.

Because it is on the way to or from no where it is not well known. With the hiking trails (800ft. elevation difference down to the confluence of the Red river and Rio Grande river ) and unbelievable views I think visiting there will be a highlight of your trip.

At the Community/Visitors center in Red River ask for maps for the gravel roads in the area. They have been helpful in the past. Ask them about the road East out of Costilla (15 miles North of Questa ) It is gravel and will take over 1/2 day with fishing along the way or just fish when a few mile out of Costilla.

We like Red River but we boondocked there. It would make a good base for what you want to do.
