We're crewing all week - a neat opportunity to see how it's all done from unloading the equipment from the truck, setting it up and chasing to find it.

We're heading down on Wednesday, camping with the FMCA Monaco Int'l group in the VIP West area. Any other MI folks heading for ABQ reading this thread?

What is "rally style" parking for RVs ? We'll likely use the premium site with water and electric hookups.

Rally style is parking next to each other row after row. We chose not to have hookups at the high fee they charge and you would still be parking 'rally style' anyway. We're all self-contained so if you come with full water and empty tanks you're good to go. They do have a 'honey wagon' service for $25/pump out but we'll last until we leave for the 12 days we're here. We'll dump the day we leave at our next stop.

Jay & Peggy - nice pics you're posting. We were there last night also with the balloon we're crewing. After this morning's lift off many landed in the field right in front of our motorhome. Neat. We have a day off today and will be back to crewing tomorrow.

We're amazed at the cost involved in ballooning and the hard work everyone puts into it.

What balloon are you crewing for? Post a photo so I can pick it out.

We're with Morning Star - a blue one. We'll be getting a free ride tomorrow morning. Watch for us among the hundreds up there!

We were there a couple of years ago and had a really great time. If you have not attended, plan to go.

Before leaving there this morning I ran a gas buddy (for diesel) search and found Smiths diesel for $3.359 a gallon and close to that was Murphys at $3.369 - roughly 40 cents a gallon less than FJ and the other truck stops. Smiths was easy to get in and out of with tow vehicle hooked up. I took on just under 70 gallons. It pays to search. And the ballons were beautiful this morning.

This morning focused on the special shape balloons - Darth Vader, Yoda, fireman with fireplug, pink elephant, teapot, wagon, octopus, owl, and many, many others. Awesome! on this beautiful, calm perfect morning. It's quite a sight to walk up close to all of them and to watch hundreds of balloons take off! Families are out there with all their children. Very cloudy this afternoon..quite a change. Tomorow's another great day. It ends Sunday.

You've missed it this year, but if you like a kicked back balloon event in a very scenic place try this one:

Colorfest Hot Air Balloon Rally | Pagosa Springs, CO

Lots of RV spaces in nicely done parks are in the area.

Here with the Monaco Int'l group, right up at the front of the RV area looking out on the field, wow... what a spot! This morning's launch was beautiful...

This has been on the list of events to attend and we finally did... if you've never been here you need to put it on the calendar...
