These pictures are great and a trip to this fiesta is a must on our Bucket List. It may take a few years, but we will make it.

Just one of the best things you'll ever find. We lived in Albuquerque for 5 years while I was stationed at Kirtland AFB. Not only did we get a chance to attend each year, the balloons used to fly directly overhead and some actually landed in the street directly in front of the house. We had 5 children and they were enchanted.

In addition to the sights, the sound of the burners lighting off just overhead or on a mass launch is something that must be experienced.

Don't miss this if there's any way you can get there. PS/ the Mexican food in town is to die for!!!

Thanks for the great pics everyone! We were supposed to crew this morning for the closing ascension but it was too windy - a lot of disappointed folks. That's another reason if you come to plan on being here at least 3-4 days and stay on the grounds. Ballooning is weather-dependent so there are cancellations.

One comment about landing in yards....on our flight we saw some funny posters being held up from home owners. Our favorite was..."land here and have free mimosas". Unfortunately, we wanted to stay up longer.
