We are looking to make a trip to Ensenada, México. Any suggestion on ware to stay or Not! I drive a 2000 Aerbus , 32ft class A.

Used to go to Mexico but have not for security reasons now for many years. Others will likely chime in with differing opinions/perspectives.

Smart folks on here.... you probably should listen to them. Traveling in Mexico in anything short of beat up 1970 Gremlin wouldn't be a good idea.

Would mitigate some issues I am sure by safety in numbers, a experienced leader, etc. But are you always going to be with the caravan? No dining, shopping, or exploring on your own?

In the 90s, we used to caravan across the border directly to Ensenada and an RV park on the beach, and return by caravan directly to the US. It was uncomfortable sometimes then. and I certainly wouldn't do it today.

I have a friend who was born and raised in Mexico. He used to go home, by car, every Christmas to visit family.
About four years ago he said he wouldn't do that any more...too dangerous. So if the natives won't go I sure wouldn't either.

Here we go again! The negative attitudes here never stop! I travel to Mexico 10 or so times a year for the last 8 years. NEVER a problem. I go to Rocky Point but mostly Tijuana and Rosarito. We are planning the same trip so I will jump on your post. To answer your question: not exactly. There are a couple of spots just south of Rosarito that I have seen. There are plenty of spots in Ensinada if you Google. We will be touring the wine country. What I have found is that RV parks south of the border are not up to the same standards as the US. It does not bother us as we would rather boondock on a beach. The dollar is very strong and the food is great. Do a search on this site and you should come up with some choices. Do not let the negative comments stop you from taking this trip. I would bet that most (if not all) of the previous comments are from people that have not been there.

I'm in Baja Sur now. Spend the winter months here. I feel safe, welcome and right now the strong dollar is really nice. The fear that lots of you have must really restrict your travels. I guess you that are so fearful will rest easy once the wall is built. If you do come down you'll be glad to know I haven't seen one Muslim.

All the negative comments are from folks who have not gone to Mexico or who have passed on 'embellished' stories.

Mexico feels very different than the states and some parts are dangerous for sure but ensenada is quite safe. Crime rates are lower than many places in the US. We were there this past summer and in 2013. Great experiences. We just bought our rv so we did not rv when we went.
I will recommend checking out Aguas Calientes. Just south of Ensenada it is a nice beach area several resorts. You can dig down to hot spring water right on the beach.
