Everglades City

It is kind of isolated and no beach or bathing beauties. Lots of fishing and air boat rides and pretty good places to eat. Naples has more to do and is
not too far away.

Billie Swamp Safari on I-75 north between Ft. Lauderdale and Naples. Then travel to to US 41 and go west to the Indian reservation and visit the tribe. Everglades National Park is a nice drive with turnoffs to see birds and such. Camping in Everglades City. Bring plenty of mosquito repellant if you decide to camp anywhere except in a commercial campground. Boondocking is pretty hard in the Everglades. Not too many places you could hide without getting a visit from LEO's.

We spent a week in Everglades Isles at Everglades City in Feb.

Luxury RV Resort | Everglades Isle™

We ate our way through the week. Great local restaurants.

Everglades City, FL Restaurants: See 11 restaurants with 1,341 reviews - TripAdvisor

Also tons of wildlife to see on Turner River Road just a few miles away.

We enjoyed a great laid back week. Just a 30 minute run up to Naples.

OK, take the ranger boat tour out of Everglades City, interesting cruise. I assume you will have a toad /transportation , take a ride on Janes Scenic Drive. You'll see plenty of gators. Also, ride the entire length of Loop Road... very pretty scenery.... note, there may be a sign when you get on Loop road saying Local Traffic Only or something like that, just keep going.
Shark Valley is definately worth a visit. Collier Seminole State park has several miles of marked trails, if the bugs aren't bad, check them out. Just outside of Collier Seminole is a god airboat ride, Corey Billie is a native american that is very knowledgeable and will give you a good ride. Just south of Everglades City is Chokoloskee, check out Ted Smallwoods store/muesem ... if you can get to it... there were some issues awhile back and a developer was blockign the road. As you turn off US41 ( Tamiami Trail) at Carnestown to go to Everglades City, there is a tourist info center, they can give you maps and directions to the places I mentioned.
On Saturday or Sunday, if you feel like a cold one, stop at Stan's in Goodland. Fun place.
