Thanks for all the replies. I haven't made reservations yet, but we decided to wait. Out son called and said he will meet us during our stay at Myakka River and join us for some baseball games, so we will stay flexible until his plans finalize. Thanks for great advice!

We usually stay at Miami Everglades on the way to the Keys. There should be plenty of room there in April. The sites are big and it's in a quiet place in the Redlands area.

Larry and Penny Memorial park in south Miami-Dade county is a really nice county park. It has a lot of empty full hookup sites now as the northern migration of the snowbirds has begun.
