Fall in northeast for tree color.

Need guidance on when to look for color in the New England area. Hoping to go mid to late September and trying to decide if that is too late. Also where to stay. Should be around Niagra Falls around September 15 and then head east thru upstate New York ending in Bar Harbor before heading south to Newport, RI. How much time for this would be recommended and is this late enough in the season. Recommendations for campgrounds and anything else. 32' with a toad. 2 adults and Shih Tzu.

I think this is too early. I live in central NH, and the trees don't turn until the 1st week of October. Danforth Bay CG in Freedom, NH is a great middle of the state CG. Right on the Maine border. Make reservations now. It could be too late!

We started in Acadia NP the last two weeks in Sept. Be aware that many of the camp grounds close the first week in Oct in Maime. From Acadiis we followed the colors south visiting many of the Cival War and Revelotionary War sites with a final destination of Hilton Head Island SC.
