FDR state park in Georgia

First trip for 2013 and first trip with our TT outside Florida. We got here on the 24th after a very windy trip coming out of Florida. What a beautiful park. Great sites and plenty of places to sight see. Weather had been very cold the first few days but now it's great. Glad we have a four season trailer.

While there, make sure you at the old country store out on the main road.

We have been very impressed with all of the Georgia state parks. The state has done a lot of renovation and seems to really be promoting camping and outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and geocaching as well as camping. If you get a chance, while you are there stop by Callaway gardens. It should be really beautiful.

We will check out the store today. Callaway is always beautiful. Some of the flowers were in bloom when we took the bikes there on Wednesday. Lots of tulips.

This is our first GA state park and we are impressed. They are very clean and have good signage for getting around. Our only concern was the way they do not assign a site, just reserve a spot and find one when you arrive. It wasn't an issue for us arriving on a Sunday, but now the park is getting full and I can see it being an issue when you need a long site. Aside from this, we really like this park and would certainly stay again.

Thanks for the tips. We will have to try those last two next time. We liked the park so I'm sure we will return.
