We are looking to camp in the Watkins Glen area & just wondering if someone knows about these campgrounds.
First the KOA in Watkins Glen or Hickory Hill Camping Resort.

Maybe you have another fav.. one.

We would be staying in the area from July 9th to 13 th or 14th. Then head north to the Rochester KOA for a couple of days.

I have stayed at both although some years ago. RV Park Reviews show some recent low ratings for Hickory Hill and higher ratings for the KOA (new owners since I was there). Have you considered the Watkins Glen SP campground? Might also want to consider Cayuga Lake SP (was there last year, nice) near Seneca Falls or Sampson SP near Romulus. You don't say what you want to do in the area but there is plenty. If you have time and enjoy wine you might want to consider the Finger Lakes Wine Festival held on the grounds of the Watkins Glen Intl Raceway on 7/15-17. Dry camping on the track is available, they have a website at www.flwinefest.com.

Try this site;

They are about 15 miles from Watkins Glen on Rt 414. Easy access from Rt17/I86
I have not camped there but know people who have and have heard of no complaints.
