Finger Lakes region

Going to the Syracuse rally and will be doing a tour of the Finger Lakes region for 2 weeks prior. The Bully Hill winery is on our list but after that we are completely open. Shopping and casinos are not on our list of things to do.
I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on places to go and especially RV parks.

While a little west of the finger lakes, take a look at Letchworth State Park. Pretty waterfalls & a campground.

Why stop with just Bully Hill Winery, my favorite, there are some others that are worth visiting. Dr. Franks comes to mind. The whole area is very beautiful in the summer. I was up there last year for a day or so.

Finger Lakes, Beautiful country. If you decide to do a tour of the wineries, and there are many, do it with a limo. We did the tour on our own a few years ago and were forewarned to take a Limo. Turned out it was good advice........
Watkins Glen is a good attraction if there is any racing going on...the town is a nice little place to stop for an afternoon if all else fails.

We're from the fingerlakes region. and like to camp at Sampson State Park, it's on Seneca Lake and about a hour drive from Syracuse. Lots to see in the area and lots of wineries to visit. They have 30 amp service at each site, water is available and they have a dump station. Have fun at the rally and enjoy the area.

Great area to visit

I'm originally from the Finger Lakes area (Canandaigua)and have many favorites.

Ithaca and Canandaigua are both charming towns with lots of activities in the summer and great access to water (lakes, gorges, parks, etc).

Two of my favorite parks are Taughannock Falls State park (Taughannock Falls State Park - NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation) and Buttermilk Falls State park: (Buttermilk Falls State Park - NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation). Gorgeous scenery right in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

The wineries are everywhere - my favorites are around Seneca and Keuka lakes. Some (but not all!) include Glenora, Fox Run, Hunt Country, Lakewood and Miles. but search here:
Official Travel and Tourism Information for Finger Lakes Wine Country
be sure to check out all the events, dining, etc. going on.

and for more drinking variety:
Finger Lakes Distilling
Bellwether Hard Cider
Award Winning Honey Mead Wine and Fruit Wines | Earle Estates Meadery

We haven't been to Hickory Hill campground in Bath, but want to. It gets very good reviews on rvparkreviews.
Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort

Keuka Lake state park also gets good reviews
Keuka Lake State Park - NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation

have fun in the Finger Lakes!

No one has mentioned the Erie Canal. This very historic canal runs from the Albany area over 400 miles to the Buffalo area. We are staying for the season at a wonderful RV Resort called Red Rock Ponds RV Resort. It is located directly across Canal Road from the canal. Ride the canal on your bikes or hike. It is very peaceful and beautiful. After your winery tour and hiking through Watkins Glen and Letchworth, you will need the rest and peace, and this is just the place.

We will be heading to Syracuse on June 13th ourselves.
