When Fort Monroe was BARC-ed a few years back the Army MWR camp ground on the base was privatized and open to the public. Not many sites but has direct access to a great beach on the bay. Also the Officer's Club, on the beach, is open to the public. It's a small CG and fills up quickly.

Then it should be no sweat for you! That said, I drove large flat deck ships so piloting the Outlaw through those turns worked out ok. that said, I did spend the day rubbing out some tree branch scratches...Give me a shout when you come back ... would enjoy swapping sea stories ... oh yeah ... Air Force dudes don't have any sea stories.

Next time we are headed that way I will give you a shout. My son is harping on me to fly down some weekend for lunch. If I do so I will drop you a line.

I will check out Chippokes as well

I remember the first time I saw the Ramsge firtst ship he was on. I asked if they let him drive that and he said yes. I told him his captain needed to talk to me because I knew how bad he was at loading the fishing boat on a trailer. He refised

Lol ... my 80 year old grandmother told the Capt of the Fleet Flag ship a similar story about me when i was Ensign. She also informed him that I "ran" the ship. She is a saint now and I often smile when I think of that story. Thanks!
