first trip of the season!

We're going to Illini state park tonight, returning Sunday morning.
Son has a scout campout, so it's just me, dw, and the 2 dogs.

Looking forward to a quiet campsite on the illinois river.

We are taking the grandson on an outing in "his" motorhome this weekend. Don't know for sure where we are headed yet but plan to have an interesting weekend. Next weekend will be to OK CY to get the MoHo serviced for the season at Freightliner. I am just ready to go .... anywhere.

We ended up at a KOA about 50 miles from our house as our first outing of the season and have had a great time - Drove by this place a thousand times but never stopped in. Great playground for grandson. Highway traffic is a little noisey but but bad at all. Will get up and go to our own church in the morning, come back, load up and head home. This KOA is near Canute, OK - would recommend it to anybody.

O I'm so sad...

This winter has been the warmest in my many years of memory. Here in Northern Ohio its been in the 60's & 70's for 10 days now. If we had our new RV we would have been camping. Sold the old RV 3 weeks ago and the new one is scheduled to be completed next week. I asked the DW if we could have gotten the old tent out and gone..... this weekend.

Wut a great trip! If u can call 30 minutes from home a trip. We had a nice riverfront campsite. Did some good hiking, and spent some time training our siberian huskiie pup.
We grilled ribs in the rain.
And I gave dw an unexpected shower clearing the rain off the awning.
Too bad we had to go home.

We have floated the Illinois on summer vacation several times and loved it but have never camped. Can't wait to try that. Glad you had a good weekend.

Lucky dog

You lucky dog, I'd go if I could ever get my MH out of the paint shop. Should be done this week, I hope so as I need it for this weekend.

Good luck with the paint.

Our next scheduled trip is smoky mountains for spring break, cirzt week of april, parhaps 11 days from now?

This will be a "long week" in a favorite destination.
With the early spring this year, I just can't wait!
