First visit to Disney's Fort Wilderness

Heading out for Disney's Fort Wilderness Campgrounds Thursday afternoon to arrive there Friday. Pulling our new 31bhds Flagstaff on its maiden voyage. Staying five days taking the grand kids to see the parks. Looking forward to see what all the good fuss is about staying at Fort Wilderness.

Make sure you spend a day just staying at Fort Wilderness! The pool usually has activities, there are movies at night, go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review, rent a mini speed boat, go fishing, etc.

Yes, we are planning to get there early Friday so we can check the campgrounds out.

Disney's transportation is so nice you may not need bikes. That was our experience with our kids 2 years ago.

When we were there, we had the all-parks pass, and unlimited mono-rail access - Epcot is our favorite, and holds kids interest well, but there's SOOOOoooooo much to see and do - good thing you're there for 5 days, you'll need them all!

ENJOY!

We are at the fort currently until the 12th. If you get a chance and we are at our site, stop by, site 1203. We have a great time at the fort and don't even go into the parks.
Much to do just visiting the various resorts for lunch each day!

Just be darned careful if your staying in the low end priced campsites. The lower the price, the tighter the turns in, particularly if your 40 or longer.

Otherwise a great resort, particularly as it is the same as high end Class A resorts. The park hopper ticket/passes are a $ killer though. Just a word, if you have access to Shades of Green (retired or active duty military) they have a special on 4 day park hopper...about half normal price.

I was there last week with the kids and grand kids. What a special place for all of us. We do that every year. Have a great time and enjoy all Disney has to offer.

Bring ear plugs for swimming. Son picked up a swimmers ear bacterial infection from the pool just last week.

Yes I am a retired vet and I always take advantage of the military discounts here. Thanks
