Fishermans Memorial Campground RI

Heading out for 4 days this weekend. Looks like it might be a little cool though.

Point Judith and the immediate surrounding areas I never get enough of going there, a lot of my childhood was spent there.

When the military abandoned those areas they left a lot behind of interest.

Give us a report when you end the stay. My son was at the Navy war College some years ago and we visited the CG but we were not staying in it. I have told others that it appeared real nice with privacy type sites because of the trees and bushes. Now I can get a first hand account from someone who is staying there.

Go into Newport, tour the mansions, visit the docks around 11:00 a.m. and get a couple lobster for $8 each and go back and throw them on the "barbie."

Happy trails.

Week in Fort Wilderness, week in Boone, NC, week in Marion, NC. Then about aweek to get home to Belle Chasse. I really don't like these short trips.

Simple solutions Gene. First one: knock off the trip to Belle Chasse and stay longer in the other places. Second option: knock off one of the trips mentioned and stay 3 days longer at the other places. Third option: Retire and stay as long as you want anywhere you want.

I am retired, time is not the problem. Money is the problem. Have to save for 8,000 mile trip this fall.

Ah! Gene, take longer stays at campgrounds that have discounts. You may pay the same amount for total fuel, but if you move from CG to CG with a longer stay at each, the retirement check catches up with you for the next leg of the trip.

Let us know how Fisherman's is for camping.
