Fl for a few weeks

We live in Birmingham, Al and need some personal time. We have a Tiffin Bus that we have not had a chance to enjoy because of medical problems with our children. We are 70+ so need a break. Thinking about heading to FL for warmth and a little fun. Not sure if sites are available but would like some suggestions.

Lot of sites around Gulf Shores, AL open, still a little cool weather wise.

I talked to a few people down here in the Fl Key's,and they say it's hard to find vacancies.

Williston Crossings RV Resort in Williston. It is in N Central Fl, a very nice place, sites are excellent, and lots of activities at the campground, as well as nearby Gainesville

I think that in general if you plan to stay in inland Florida that you'll have better luck finding sites.
The 'destination' areas on either coast and in the Keys will most likely be full.

We made reservations at Bryn Mawr RV Resort in St Augustine just yesterday. Might could give them a try. Bout the best you can hope for down south is a day or two here and there. I have had some luck at the KOA in St Petersburg in the past. Might could give them a call. Don't trust the online systems, call and speak to someone at the campgrounds, often they can work you in. Good luck!

Pick a general location and start calling. It's not unusual to have people cancel reservations as they usually make them a year in advance and things change. We are in Blue Water Key now and had someone cancel a month stay just the other day. A friend of ours snagged it up.
If you want warm weather, I suggest you look to be south of I-4 .

The temps in pan handle and central FL in winter are not much better then Birmingham. To not see frost you need to be Naples and south. I've lived here since the 60's. "warmth and a little fun"..the fun you can have any where.
Good luck finding something in south FL before Apr. And prepare to pay $$$$$. just sayn

Bryn Mawr RV Resort in St Augustine is a great place for older folks like us. It's just far enough north to be too cool for the surf set so it's pretty quiet. It has access to the ocean and lots to do in the city as well. We can usually get a site there for a few days.

Love the old city.

I just had to push back a stay at Sun N Fun in Sarasota by two weeks, they may still have that as availability.
