FL to TX via I-10

Jan 3rd we're taking off from S FL heading to TX. Plan on seeing the state for two or three months & start heading north as it warms up. Just started fulltiming last Feb. with an 8 month east coast trip. The Mobile Suites handles the cold weather pretty good (stayed nice & toasty in Luray, VA in 4" of snow). Looks like the avg. temp along the route is around 43 degrees. Don't think we'll stop anywhere along I-10 except to overnight at a Cracker Barrel.

Just wanted some advice on places to visit in TX - would probably come in to the Houston area & go south. San Antonio is obvious but would like other areas/rv parks all over TX that people have been to. A week bookdocking in an interesting area wouldn't be out of the question either. We have 600 watts of solar on the roof & 600 ah of batteries in the basement as well as a 5500 onan propane gen. and a 100 gal fresh tank.

After TX maybe over to CA & north or maybe straight north????

Look forward to your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

After San Antonio, check out the Coastal bend, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi, on around to South Padre Island, Head North, check out the Hill Country Austin, Kerrville & north, then you can head west for Grand canyon & Calif. or if it's getting too warm, head north thru the Rockies, Yellowstone area. who knows, It's a big country, take your time, see it all, maybe one bite at a time. Happy Trails.
