Flagstaff AZ to Kanab UT

Heading for Kanab UT our route planner has us going to Flagstaff AZ, using US 89 to Kanab. I was looking at using 89T also. On checking the road condition both have some problem. Has anyone traveled on either of these roads recently? If so you recommendation would be appreciated. Which RV Park would you recommend in Flagstaff?

From Flagstaff, take Hwy 89 north into Page and west to Kanab. We've done this multiple times. There are no big uphills or downhills - just moderate ones.

89T was a temporary road made to carry traffic when there was a landslide on 89 which closed the highway for about a year. 89T is o.k. to drive though but 89 is now open.

I recently heard that 89A was closed because of a big rockslide during recent rains. I'm not sure if it's open yet or not but that would be another way to go. Check out the condition just before you go. It would involve one big uphill and downhill around Jacob Lake but it's very scenic and many RVers drive it. We did.

Basically, RVers and semi trucks drive all the routes. Just pick one.

The only problem I've ever had on 89A are the poky maroons who refuse to use the pullouts to let people pass. I encounter at least one, usually more, every time I take that route, which is a pity since it is such an interesting drive.

We did that route earlier this summer. It was a beautiful ride. Stayed at the KOA in Flagstaff. Would stay there again.

Thanks for your post we went 89A and came back 89 from Kanab, no problems just a 15 min delay on 89 for construction. Great route, would like to do it on my motorcycle some time
