We like camping in Florida but the no-see-um bugs likes us even more. We tried around Tampa and Port Richie so far but no luck, would you nice folks know were there are less no-see-ums between Tampa and Ocala in January, Febuary and March your help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gilles

Hello Gilles,

I lived in Florida from 1955 until I retired and relocated to NC in 1999; agreed .... the 'no-see-ums' can be a real pain in the you know what. It's been my observation that they aren't as bad along the coasts where there's generally a slight breeze from the Gulf or ocean.

Try a campground as close to the coast as possible and you might be pleasantly surprised at how nice it is in Florida between January and March.

We've been here in Zephyrhills since 12/1/06 and bugs have been a non-issue, just like the last two years. We sit out regularly during daytime and early evening. We have had no complaints.

We stayed at Grand Lakes near Ocala this past Thanksgiving. No bugs, but it was pretty cool. The RV resort was top notch, the golf was one step below a muni course.

Gilles,we also had problems with the no-see-ums here in Port Richey, that is until we moved to a campground on Little Road. We are not bothered with those creatures now.

R/T pickup,Orchid Lake Travel Park. Its south of Ridge Road on the right just past the new Home Depot. They have a nice small lake, heated pool and nice club house. Its best to get reservations as they stay pretty full.

Thanks Joe for the informations
By the way I believe we've met 2 years ago at Suncoast RV Park and you had mention that your wife was using some insect wipes that she purchased at walmart.
Thanks again
Gilles
