Has anyone taken the cave tour at Florida Caverns? And if so, how strenuous is the tour?

I read on another forum that this is a 'strenuous' tour but that term is all relative to how fit you are which is subjective for everyone.

Having said that (or at least I tried to) I think I am fairly fit and could do a tour if it doesn't involve climbing strairs straight up for an hour or so. Most other tours I have had no problems with and mini hiking up to waterfalls etc don't seem to be a problem. I am in my early 50's (yes, I admit it) in decent health and would like to do the tour assuming the caves aren't still flooded and the tours aren't running!

Thanks, JO

You should not have any problems, as a matter of fact with all of this rain we have been having lately more than likely you will be given the short tour version anyway.
The cavern floods when the the water table in Florida rises. It is a nice tour and a nice campground with a swimming hole called the Blue Hole. It is a clear water natural spring feed pond. Nice Place. enjoy! Click Here
