Florida East Coast Winter Options

We are still in the discovery mode in terms of winter options. We did the western US option last year (TX, NM, AZ) and want to try something in FL this year for Jan-Feb. We are now on a waiting list for a place in Bradenton, FL but may want to try something on the East coast.

So, is the eastern coast of FL less popular than the Gulf coast? What areas would give us the best option of being on or near the beach? Is it likely too late even now to find something decent for Jan and/or Feb?

My favorite spot on the East Coast is North Beach Camp Resort just north of St. Augustine FL. It is right on the A1A highway with beach access right across the road. It is also right on the ICW and has its own fishing pier. Lots of shaded sites that are VERY long with very reasonable rates.

The other location is VERY expensive if you want to be RIGHT at the ocean. It's called Beverly Beach Camptown RV Park in Flagler Beach FL.

And don't forget Aunt Kate's restaurant located on the river side of North Beach! In addition to Beverly Beach Flagler By The Sea there is also Camptown just south of it. My wife's cousin and husband used to spen every Winter at Flagler by the Sea. It is probably booked up for the Winter as it is not very big, but Camptown is fairly large with sites next to the ocean and more just across highway A1A. There is also Bulow Plantation on Old Kings Road, but it has a huge number of permanent residents. We drove through it a couple of weeks ago. We live in Palm Coast year-round (well, except for when we're off somewhere with our TT).

Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral. Retired military? Sebastian Inlet State Park...on the water. Long Point Campground near Sebastian Inlet. Hanna Park, Jacksonville. Anastasia State Park, St Augustine. Lion Country Safari KOA, Loxahatchee,FL...hear the lions roar!
These are a few I can think of...
