Florida Everglades Flamingo Park info for November

Taking a trip to FL for thanksgiving week. Plan is to stay over by Jupiter FL then looking for something else on the other side but all sites looked booked on reserveamerica.com but the Flamingo site is wide open. I mean it looks like no sites are booked at all. Why?
Looks like a interesting place. I will be toting my 23' boat and there is a boat launch there to explore florida bay.

Why is it so empty? are bugs really bad that time of year. Weather.. gators?? just curious.

It's an interesting place and they have some electric sites now. Bugs can be an issue anytime in Florida. Also plenty of gators like all of south Florida. I'm guessing you would have a good time. Stop at "Robert is Here" fruit & vegetable stand on the way in.

There is a marina there with a store, fuel pumps, etc. at the campgrounds
Yes, the bugs can be bad-- just depends on the weather. It's a out of the way place which helps explain why it's usually pretty empty.
On the road heading to the park, there is Everglades Alligator Farm-- pretty interesting place to spend a couple hours.

We stopped there in Oct 2014. Very nice campground with only about 6 RV's camped there when we were there. We took a boat tour while there which as nice. But we like to hike and found too many bugs made it not enjoyable. (and we have our own share of mosquitoes here in Canada) We stayed only 2 days and continued on down to the Keys.
