Florida for Christmas?

Hi all! I did a search and got some good advice, so now I'll ask this question I'm sure you've never heard before.....
I'll be driving from Maryland, and I would like to spend the week of Christmas this year in a NICE RV park some place in southern Florida. Looking for beachfront if possible, at least close. Available pool and amenities. Gated would be nice but warm and sunny is a must! . East or west coast is fine. Keys are good too but I know they are probably full now. Yes I know two thirds of the way through August is pushing it, but my mother in law was in the ending stages of cancer. I couldn't make any reservations until we knew what was going to happen. She passed last night. My wife needs to get away now and this would be a nice trip for her after this long ordeal. Not going for the "sorry" factor, just explaining why I'm so late looking.
I'll be driving a 42' 2006 Country Coach Magna with 4 slides. I will be towing a 2011 Tahoe. I want to stay a week at the resort and have given myself two weeks for the trip.
Thanks for any information and suggestions.

We have stayed here in Naples twice, and we have enjoyed it both times. Crystal Lake RV Resort :: Naples, Florida :: RV Park Reviews

It's a bit pricy "in season" but if this is close enough to the beach for you, it has everything else you are asking for. It's all very civilized and clean. Here are their prices: Crystal Lake RV Resort Rentals Naples FL - Crystal Lake RV Resort

The lots are privately owned and therefore there are not 2 lots alike. If you decide to go, see if you can get one close to the main Clubhouse near the gates - otherwise it could be a long walk to the pool.

Good luck hunting.

Hi Stratman50th,
If you want the Keys, go to Sunshine Key RV Resort & Marina | Encore RV Resort in Florida Keys and check out this place. I've been there many times and also hosted rallies there. It is at MM 39. About a 1 1/2 miles south of 7 mile bridge. There is plenty to do both north and south of the resort.

Check Blue Water Key outside of Key West.... we were able to get in for xmas last year and didn't call them until November ... another high class place on the east coast is Aztec RV Resort in Margate... near Ft. Lauderdale.

Funny story. Pelican Lake is why we bought a travel trailer. Every year a friend from the east coast would come visit me in Naples. He stays with me for a night or two and then goes to visit his old neighbors and stays "in their shed." This year we went to visit the shed. They have a magnificent site in Pelican with an outdoor mini-cabin - the shed - decorated in designer fabrics with a restroom! I have a flexible job this year so I asked my husband if we could consider rv'ing. He thought I'd lost my mind, but now we have a Winnebago and we're about to go on a second trip. Pelican Lake is beautiful. Very close to Marco Island, and you're about 20-25 mins. (at Xmas season traffic) to downtown Naples.
