Florida Keys & Diving Campground

Could anyone recommend a campground in the Florida Keys where there is a Marina or dive shop and waterfront sites?

My son and I are heading south for a diving weekend and looking for a full location that might run dive trips out of a nearby marina.

Greg,

Take a look at Bahia Honda State Park. Also down there is Siesta Key. I don't think either are actually affiliated with a marina but they do have launch ramps and facilities on the water. You're never far from dive facilities anywhere down there. Check out Captain Hook's in Marathon for dive trips. I haven't used them in years but they used to run a good shop. Good hunting.

I should have mentioned that I have two dogs in tow, so unless things have changed the state parks don't permit dogs for camping. Otherwise Bahia Honda would be a great place.

Could you be meaning "Fiesta Key". This one looked good on line. But the "Siesta" key is in Sarasota on the west coast.

I just returned yesterday from Venture Out Resort on Cudjoe Key on MM 23. It has a marina, store and gas pump, and there are dive trips about 4 miles north at Looe Key Dive Shop. I stayed on a waterfront site with my boat in the water directly behind my RV. I just drove back and forth to the dive shop for air fills and did my own diving. Looe Key Reef was BEAUTIFUL!! It is about 6 miles to the east of the campground. FWIW, most, but not all, FL state parks allow pets with the usual restrictions plus proof of current innoculations...Google Bahia SP for their specifics...
