Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice campgrounds in the Florida Keys? We use to stay at the Fiesta Key KOA which sold out to condos.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Bluewater Key RV Resort,beautiful place located oceanside with sites on the water.Appox 14 miles from Key West.

We live in Key West and love to go up to the Sugarloaf KOA for a weekend (or longer) of fun... Nothing fancy and thats the way we like it...here is the link

Bluewater is Beautiful,Secluded sites, great if you want to be by yourself. Pricey.

Bahia Honda state park is great ..but usually booked ....unless you go during the summer.

The keys are Great wherever you end up.

We stayed at Sugarloaf KOA over Easter and loved it. We will be back this Easter. Nice pool and hot tub. Beach and boat docks. Even has a bar!
Sites were pretty tight - my slide out was about 6 inches away from the next sites awning. They had to move out of the way when I needed to get into the basement.
Great restaurant, Mangrove Mama's, right outside the campground on the main road. Also great bike riding past the campground on an abandoned road. Leads to a washed out bridge.
It is pretty pricey but the keep it clean and well maintained.

My understanding is that the deal did not work out and KOA is still running fiesta Key. Restrictions prevented the buyer from putting the Condos up.

Jolly Roger at Marathon was nice. I also stayed at Leo's right outside the bridge that is the entrance to Key West. Depending upon how long you're going to be down there, go online to Craig's List in Key West or to one of the local newspapers. People list their privately owned RV lots for rent for a LOT less than RV park rates. I had completely forgotten about that until last week when I was thinking about trying to go back down after Quartzite. I'm definitely going to look into that before signing on to an expensive RV park.

If you can do without sewer for a few days Curry Hammock State Park (near Marathon) is really nice (IMO). We live in South Florida and took some relatives on a non-MH day trip to the Keys in January so we drove thru and took some pics. You can see them in link below. This is a popular SP, so to get in during peak season requires good planning.

We saw your post and recommendation of camping in the Keys at Bluewater Key RV Resort.
Thanks very much for making us aware of this fabulous place. The price was only a few dollars more than Boyd's CG but what a difference. Each site is individually owned and we were lucky to get a site at the end of the peninsula, close to the pool, and away from A1A road noise. We were looking for some place to relax but close to Key West when we wanted to be energized again. this was the place. We were on the bay side and our site had a tiki hut, bar & chairs, plus a dock. A gentle breeze came off the water and the sunrises were spectacular. Unfortunately for RVers with children there isn't anything for them to do except the pool. But for peace of mind, quietness, rest, and relaxing by the water this place is the best.
